KING ABDULLAH ECONOMIC CITY, Saudi Arabia — Brooks Koepka held it together at the end for a 2-under 68 and defended his title at LIV Golf-Jeddah with a birdie on the second playoff hole to beat Talor Gooch on a day when both had reason to celebrate.
JEDDAH: Australian Marc Leishman, of team Ripper GC, leads the field by a single shot after the first round of LIV Golf Jeddah, presented by ROSHN, thanks to a bogey-free, five-under-par round of 65 in challenging, windy conditions at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club on Friday. His closest challengers at the top of the leaderboard are Dustin Johnson (of 4Aces GC), Harold Varner III (RangeGoats GC), and Brooks Koepka (Smash GC), all on four-under.
