SEATTLE — Coming through in the same round where they fell short a year ago, the Las Vegas Aces returned to the WNBA Finals for the second time in the past three years with a 97-92 victory Tuesday in Game 4 of their semifinal series against the Seattle Storm, winning 3-1.
SEATTLE -- — Jackie Young sent the game in overtime with a buzzer-beating basket and then Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum hit big shots in the extra session to help the Las Vegas Aces beat the Seattle Storm 110-98 on Sunday to move within a victory of advancing to the WNBA Finals.
LAS VEGAS — They were the All-Star Game captains this season and one of them will be the WNBA's season MVP when that award is announced Sept. 7. On Wednesday, in what felt like a must-win game for Las Vegas, the Aces' A'ja Wilson and the Storm's Breanna Stewart both played brilliantly. But Wilson's team came out on top 78-73 to even this WNBA best-of-five semifinal series at 1-1.
Four teams remain in the WNBA playoffs after an entertaining first round. The new playoff format provided a hint of drama, with the Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun getting pushed to three games in their respective series. The Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm swept their opponents in two games to advance to the next round.

But the Storm's other four usual starters — all past No. 1 draft picks — did what they have made great careers of doing best. And Seattle struck first with a 76-73 victory in Game 1 at a sold-out Michelob Ultra Arena.
Jewell Lloyd scored 26 points, including Seattle's final six, and the Storm edged the Las Vegas Aces 76-73 on Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the WNBA semifinals.
