Rajasthan Royals pacer Sandeep Sharma registered an unwanted record after he bowled a 11-ball over during the IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. It was the final over of the DC innings when Sandeep bowled four wides and a no-ball to concede 19 runs. Tristan Stubbs also slammed a four and a six to add to Sandeep's misery. The pacer had a chance to take a wicket on the final ball of the over but Maheesh Theekshana dropped a sitter as he ended with figures of 0/33.
Mitchell Starc produced a display of brilliant pace bowling as Delhi Capitals beat Rajasthan Royals in Super Over during their IPL 2025 encounter. Starc defended 9 runs in the final over of the match and in the Super Over, he conceded 11 runs to clinch the match for DC. While RR fell short of the victory, their decision to not send Nitish Rana for the Super Over was criticised heavily by former Australia cricketer Shane Watson. Rana was the top-scorer for RR with a 28-ball-51 but his side opted for Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shimron Hetmyer for the Super Over. Watson was livid with the decision and went on to ask what was Rana's fault that he was not given a chance to bat once again.

With RR needing nine off the final over while chasing 189, Starc forced the Super Over, where he only conceded 11 runs, a total which was achieved by DC batter KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs with two balls to spare. The win saw DC reclaim the top spot in the IPL 2025 points table with five wins in six games while RR remained eighth with four points from seven matches.
Rajasthan Royals were dealt a massive blow as Sanju Samson left the field retired hurt during the IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. Samson, who was batting on 31 off 19 balls, suffered a rib injury while trying to play a shot against Vipraj Nigam. Samson looked in a lot of pain and while he did play another delivery after his check-up, the RR captain ultimately decided to leave the field. Samson played the first three matches of IPL 2025 as an Impact Player while he was recovering from injury. While Samson received treatment from the RR physio, one of the commentators said that "a little here and there and it could be grade 1 to 3 muscle tear" for the Indian cricket team star.

Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel was fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining slow over-rate during his team's 12-run defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians in an IPL game. "Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match No. 29 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. As this was his team's first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL's Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Patel was fined INR 12 lakhs," the BCCI said in a release.
A relieved Hardik Pandya credited 'impact sub' Karn Sharma for showing a lot of heart to fashion Mumbai Indians' 12-run win against Delhi Capitals here on Sunday, a result that helped the visitors get their IPL campaign back on track. DC were cruising at 119 for one just after the halfway stage but were eventually bowled out for 193 in 19 overs, with spinner Karn playing a pivotal role by taking three wickets for 36 runs. It was skipper Rohit Sharma who suggested to coach Mahela Jayawardene to bring Karn into the attack and also requested a ball change after the 11th over.
