With World Cup And Asia Cup Ahead, India May Rest Stars For Ireland Tour. Shubman Gill And...

India's T20 captain Hardik Pandya could be given a break from the three-match series against Ireland starting August 18 as part of workload management in a busy year including the Asia Cup and the big-ticket ODI World Cup at home, BCCI sources said. Even Shubman Gill, who is now an automatic pick across three formats, could be rested keeping the global event in mind.

How Can India Play Pakistan 3 Times In 15 Days At Asia Cup - Explained

The Asia Cup 2023 schedule was officially announced on Wednesday and India are all set to face Pakistan in their Group A match at Kandy in Sri Lanka on September 2. However, that may not be the only time when the two teams come face-to-face in the competition. The top two teams from both groups will move to the Super Fours stage where all teams will play each other once. According to the release shared by Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Jay Shah, Pakistan will be A1 and India will be A2 irrespective of their positions in the group stages. Not Asia Cup, Jasprit Bumrah Could Be Back For This Series: Report

Jasprit Burmah's absence from the national team has hurt India a lot over the last year or so, especially in big events. Had the pacer been a part of the team at the Asia Cup, T20 World Cup and the World Test Championship, India's campaign could've ended quite differently. While this year's Asia Cup was being seen as the possible return event for the marquee pacer, a report has claimed that the ace bowler might be able to wear the national team's jersey a little before.

Pakistan To Change Asia Cup Stance? PCB Wants To Host More Games: Report

The PCB will try to get more matches of the Asia Cup to be staged in Pakistan when the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) board meets in Dubai on Sunday. Following the acceptance of the hybrid model by all stakeholders including the PCB and BCCI, the ACC announced last month that four matches will be held in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka with the event to held from August 31 to September 17. Hybrid model was proposed as BCCI had clearly conveyed that it won't send its team to Pakistan due to the tense relations between the two countries.

"To Refresh Memory": Asian Council's Blunt Reminder To Pakistan Minister Over Asia Cup Remark

As Pakistan continues to change its stance on the venue chaos pertaining to the Asia Cup and the World Cup, a senior Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has sent a firm reminder to the nation's Sports Minister who threatened to not send his team for ODI World Cup in India. The Sports Minister Ehsan Mazari said that Babar Azam's men will not travel to India for the World Cup if the BCCI doesn't send its team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. After Pakistan Cricket Board boss Zaka Ashraf and BCCI secretary Jay Shah met in Durban, however, it was finalised that the Asia Cup will indeed be held in the proposed hybrid model.
