ROKiT Venturi Racing’s Edoardo Mortara insists he is not thinking about a maiden ABB FIA Formula E World Championship title despite sitting 11 points clear at the top of the drivers’ standings. The Swiss-Italian driver will return to the track this weekend in New York City for Rounds 11 and 12 of the world’s premier all-electric series off the back of a victory in Marrakesh last time out.
MARRAKESH: Edoardo Mortara hit the top of the Drivers’ World Championship with victory in the Marrakesh E-Prix round 10 as the ROKiT Venturi Racing driver fended off pressure from DS TECHEETAH teammates Antonio Felix da Costa and Jean-Eric Vergne throughout.
Starting from sixth, Evans was pitched into an early tussle with Pascal Wehrlein, after the Porsche driver had been passed early on by Jake Dennis for fourth place.
2019-20 champion da Costa has endured a difficult season so far, failing to score in the opening races at Diriyah and since then has struggled to keep on Vergne's pace through the year.
Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship continues this weekend in Marrakesh as the all-electric racing series returns to Morocco following a two-year hiatus. Round 9 will take place at the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan with the race replacing the postponed Vancouver E-Prix.
