Sunrisers Hyderabad released big-money signing Harry Brook along with international cricketers Adil Rashid and Akeal Hosein ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction. Brook was picked up by SRH for a massive figure of INR 13.5 crore but he was not able to perform according to his potential. The England international scored only 190 runs in 11 matches at an average of above just 21, with one century. Rashid played two matches last year, picking two wickets. Akael played just one match, scoring 16 runs and taking a wicket. Other players released are Indian uncapped players like: Karthik Tyagi, Vivrant Sharma and Samarth Vyas.

KOLKATA : South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bat against Australia under an overcast sky in Kolkata in the second semi-final match of the 50-overs World Cup on Thursday.
South Africa will be up against Australia in the second semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on November 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM IST. South Africa head into the semi-finals on a strong note, concluding their league campaign with a five-wicket victory over giant killers Afghanistan. The Proteas finished second with 14 points from nine matches. They only lost against the Netherlands and hosts India. The contributions of Heinrich Klaasen and the all-rounder Marco Jansen have added significant impetus to the side led by Temba Bavuma.
