After completing his half-century in 33 balls, Abhishek took just 13 more deliveries to reach triple figures. He smashed seven fours and eight sixes at a strike rate of 212, but got out on the very next ball after completing his century. Abhishek, who was dismissed for a duck on his debut, became the fastest Indian batter, in terms of innings, to score a century for India in T20I cricket.
Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad produced high-quality knocks before the bowlers did their part as India outplayed Zimbabwe by 23 runs in the third T20 in Harare on Wednesday. Gill (66 off 49), Yashasvi Jaiswal (36 off 27) and Gaikwad (49 off 28) propelled India to 182 for four against Zimbabwe after the visitors opted to bat on a fresh pitch. Zimbabwe were never really in the run chase despite an entertaining effort from number four Dion Myers (65 not out 49), ending at 159 for six in their stipulated 20 overs.
An inexperienced yet spirited Zimbabwe pulled off an upset of massive proportions when they stunned an Indian team brimming with an array of Next-Gen stars by 13 runs in the first T20I of the five-match series in Harare on Saturday. India, who were recently crowned champions in the T20 World Cup albeit with a different set of players, were expected to trot past an unfancied Zimbabwe and the script followed that line when the hosts were restricted to 115 for nine.

Gaikwad has been in brilliant form in the ongoing tour of Zimbabwe, with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain registering scores of 77 and 49 in the second and third T20Is, respectively. As India took a 2-1 lead over Zimbabwe in the series on Wednesday, Gaikwad took to Instagram to share a hilarious post. While suggesting he is "ahead of the trend", Gaikwad shared a picture of his T20I cap, with number 88 engraved on it. For the unversed, Gaikwad is the 88th player to play for India.
