Indian shooters Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema missed a chance to win a medal in the men's 10m air pistol individual final at the Asian Games 2023. While Sarabjot finished fourth with a score of 199.0, Arjun was placed at eighth rank with a score of 113.3. Earlier, Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, and Arjun Singh Cheema bagged a gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol team event. The Indian team finished one point ahead of silver medal holders China. This was the fourth gold medal in shooting and overall sixth in the ongoing Asian Games.

In the fourth game, Sathiyan just brushed aside his rival giving away just two points.

For India's Naorem Roshibina Devi the silver medal in women's 60kg sanda event of wushu was a victory for the victims of Manipur violence that has been raging in her native state since May this year. Hailing from the Meitei community in Kwashiphai village in Bishnupur district adjoining Churachandpur, which is dominated by the rival Kuki ethnic community, Roshibina fought a valiant fight against local heavyweight Wu Xiaowei before going down 0-2 in two rounds in the final. Roshibana will face now China's Wu Xiaowei in the final on Thursday. Hailing from Manipur, Roshibina has impressed with her performances. She stormed into the semi-final in the women's 60 Kg category on Monday, assuring the country of at least a bronze.

Roshibina Devi Dedicates Asian Games 2023 Medal To Arunachal Players Who Couldn't Compete

The highly-talented Roshibina Devi knocked out Vietnam's Thi Thu Nguyen on Wednesday to enter the 60 kg final of the Wushu competition here on Wednesday, ensuring India at least silver medal in the Asian Games. Roshibina never gave a chance to her rival, winning the bout 2-0. She will now face China's Wu Xiaowei in the gold medal match on Thursday. In fact, this is a historic feat for Roshibina as she is only the second Indian to reach a wushu event final after Sandhyarani Devi, who managed the feat during the 2010 Games at Guangzhou. However, Roshibina had won a bronze medal in the same weight category during the Jakarta Asian Games in 2018.

Asian Games 2023: Vidit Gujrathi Stumbles Against China's Wei Yi; In Joint Second Place

Third-seeded Indian Grandmaster Vidit Gujrathi went down to top-ranked Chinese player Wei Yi in the seventh round of the men's individual chess event in the 19th Asian Games on Tuesday. Despite the defeat, the 28-year old Indian is in joint second place with 5 points from 7 rounds, half-a-point behind Yi. Uzbekistan's Nodirbek Abdusattorov is sharing the second place with Gujrathi. Arjun Erigaisi, the other Indian in the fray, beat Indonesia's Novendra Priasmoro in the seventh round to reach 4.5 points. He shares the joint third spot with three other players.
