After India shooter Swapnil Kusale's historic bronze medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics, his former coach Vishwajeet Shinde expressed his feelings saying that his victory has brought great joy to the nation. Kusale became the first Indian shooter to win a medal in the men's 50m rifle 3P event. The shooter clinched the bronze medal for India in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men's Final after finishing in third place with an aggregate of 451.4. He secured India's third overall medal in shooting. "I am very happy he got an Olympic medal today. His victory is a matter of great joy for us. This is the result of the hard work he did and I am very happy for him," Vishwajeet Shinde told ANI.
Following Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain's victory over Norway's Sunniva Hofstad, her father, Tiken Borgohain, expressed confidence in his daughter's performance in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. Lovlina defeated Hofstad 5-0 in the women's 75 kg round of 16 bouts on Wednesday. Borgohain, a bronze medalist in the 69 kg category at Tokyo 2020, is seeded eighth in her first 75 kg Olympic tournament. "It was a good fight. She won her first bout 5-0. I think she should try harder. The next round will be even tougher," Tiken Borgohain told ANI.
