The winners of the knockout match will join Gokulam Kerala, Bashundhara Kings (Bangladesh) and Maziya Sports and Recreation (Maldives) in the group D of the AFC Cup main round beginning May 18. Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore clash in the IPL here on Tuesday. LSG and RCB head into the match after wins over Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, respectively and both teams, who have eight points from six outings, would be keen to continue their winning streak. Cheteshwar Pujara's fabulous knock of 201* in the ongoing County Championship Division 2 game between Sussex and Derbyshire helped him join an elite batting list featuring former India captainMohammad Azharuddin. On Sunday, Pujara played a gutsy innings to score a double-century on his debut for Sussex in County Cricket and this made him only the second Indian batter to score a double ton in the County Championship. Azharuddin had achieved this feat twice, once in 1991 when he scored 212 against Leicestershire and then in 1994 against Durham when he piled 205 runs. On both the instances, Azharuddin was representing County side Derbyshire.
Umran Malik has been breathing fire in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Bowling in the death overs is the most difficult task for a bowler and fast bowler Umran, who consistently bowls at 145- 150kmph plus, handles that arduous task, seemingly with ease. In Sunday's first match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings, Umran bowled the last over of the Punjab innings. The scoreboard at that time read 151-6, with big hitting Odean Smith and Rahul Chahar at the crease for Punjab. And incredibly, Umran did not give away a single run in the over and took three wickets. There was also a run out, which meant that overall four wickets fell in the 20th over and the Punjab innings folded up for 151. SRH eventually won the match by 3 wickets for their fourth win on the trot.
Senior India batter Cheteshwar Pujara redeemed himself with an unbeaten double hundred in the second innings as Sussex snatched a draw against Derbyshire at the 2022 County Championship here on Sunday. Making his debut for Sussex, Pujara was dismissed for six off 15 balls in his first innings on the second day as his team folded for 174 in 56.3 overs in reply to Derbyshire's 505.
