"A Call-Out": Netherlands Coach's Emotional Plea To Teams, Sponsors Post ODI World Cup Entry

Netherlands qualified for the ODI World Cup last week. The Dutch joined Sri Lanka in reaching the sport's quadrennial showpiece which is being hosted by India in October and November. It will be their fifth appearance in the tournament but first since 2011. However, the bigger challenge for Netherlands lies right after the World Cup qualification. There is still three months' time for the mega event to take place and the Dutch team doesn't have any scheduled matches to play. Meanwhile, the team also needs sponsors.

PCB Chairman To Push For Pakistan's World Cup Matches At Neutral Venues In ICC Meeting

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) acting chairman Zaka Ashraf will push for the country's ODI World Cup matches at neutral venues at the ICC meeting in Durban this week, the Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (Sports), Ehsan Mazari, has said. "Zaka Ashraf will bring up the issue of why can't Pakistan's matches in the World Cup be played at neutral venues when the Indian team can't travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup," he said. India has refused to play its Asia Cup matches in Pakistan owing to geopolitical tensions, and after months of speculation around the continental tournament, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced that the event will be staged in a hybrid model with four games in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka from August 31 to September 17.

Dilshan Madushanka Spearheads Sri Lanka Victory Over Netherlands

Sri Lanka won the duel between the two World Cup qualifiers on Sunday thrashing the Netherlands by 128 runs in the final of the tournament in Harare. The Dutch did well to skittle the Sri Lankans out for just 233 inside 48 overs after Dutch captain Scott Edwards won the toss and put them into bat. However, the Dutch were never in the hunt after being reduced to 39-3 -- man of the match Dilshan Madushanka taking three of the wickets -- as they collapsed to 105 all out in just over 23 overs.  Sri Lanka coach Chris Silverwood was beaming after his side achieved all the targets set for them. The 48-year-old Englishman said the confidence gained from the tournament would serve them well for the sport's quadrennial showpiece which gets underway in India on October 5.

"Can't Bat Like Cheteshwar Pujara, He Can't...": Prithvi Shaw Takes Shot At Critics

After a bright start to his career, Prithvi Shaw has now slipped down the pecking order in the Indian team but the Mumbai youngster on Saturday said he is banking on his natural "aggressive" game to score runs and earn his place back in the national side. Shaw last appeared for India in a T20I match against Sri Lanka at Colombo in July 2021. "Personally, I feel I don't have to change my game, but a little smarter than what I am. I can't bat like Pujara sir bats or Pujara sir can't bat like me.
