Asian Games: Vishnu Saravanan Wins Bronze, Bags India's Third And Final Medal In Sailing

Indian sailor Vishnu Saravanan won a bronze, the country's first-ever medal in the men's dinghy ILCA-7 event at the Asian Games here on Wednesday. Saravanan finished with a net score of 34 points to miss the silver medal by just one point in the gruelling 11-race competition. South Korea's Jeemin HA took the second spot with 33 points. Singapore's Jun Han Ryan Lo claimed the gold with a net score of 26. Lack of wind, however, denied India a medal in women's single dinghy ILCA-6 event where Nethra Kumanan had to settle for a disappointing fourth place finish after race No 12, which was to be the final one in the category, was cancelled.

Pistol Shooter Esha Singh secured a silver medal for India in the 25 m women's pistol final at the ongoing Hangzhou Asian Games on Wednesday. With a total of 34 points, she secured a silver medal. The gold medal went to China's Rui Liu who had 38 points. The bronze medal was bagged by South Korea's Jiin Yaang, who had 29 points. Manu Bhaker, the Indian olympian had a disappointing outing with just 21 points, which earned her the fifth position. Manu Bhaker's poor performance in the final was largely due to a pistol malfunction.

With the score of 469.6 points, Sift not only topped the charts to secure a gold, but also broke the world record, Asian record and the Asian Games record. The Indian shooting trio of Ashi Chouksey, Manini Kaushik and Sift Kaur Samra secured a silver medal for India in the women's 50 m rifle 3P team shooting event at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou on Wednesday. With a score of 1754 points, India secured a silver medal at the event, falling just 19 points short of a gold medal. The gold medal went to China, who had a score of 1773 points. South Korea walked away with the silver medal with 1756 points. This is India's sixth medal in shooting.

Manu, Esha and Rhythm totalled 1759 to finish on top of the podium and help the country clinch its fourth gold medal in the ongoing sporting extravaganza. Volleyball At Asian Games 2023: India Lose 0-3 To Pakistan, Finish Sixth

The Indian men's volleyball team finished sixth at the Asian Games after going down 0-3 to arch-rivals Pakistan on Tuesday. The Pakistani team dominated all three sets and outplayed India 25-21 25-20 25-23 in just one hour and 14 minutes. It was a mixed campaign for the men's team, who had topped their pool after beating Cambodia by 3-0 and stunning 2018 silver medallist South Korea 3-2. India also defeated 2018 bronze medallist Chinese Taipei in the top 12 match by 3-0.

Divyansh and Ramita Jindal lost a nerve-wracking bronze-medal contest as India went without a medal at the shooting range for the first time in three days.
