The water salute is generally done as a show of respect to the airplane as well as its crew and passengers. The India cricketers landed in New Delhi early in the morning on Thursday and then met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In Mumbai, they are expected to take part in a victory parade which will end in a ceremony that will happen at the Wankhede Stadium.
