PBKS' Liam Livingstone Returns To England To Address Knee Niggle Ahead Of T20 World Cup

Punjab Kings' all-rounder Liam Livingstone on Monday returned to England from the ongoing IPL to undergo a knee recuperation ahead of the next month's T20 World Cup. The Kings are already eliminated from this IPL after managing just four wins from 12 matches and they are currently at the bottom of the table with eight points. "IPL done for another year, had to get my knee sorted for the upcoming World Cup," Livingstone wrote on his Instagram wall.

Sri Lanka women's team defeated Scotland by 68 runs in the summit clash of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024. Asked to bat first, Sri Lanka posted a total of 169/5 in 20 overs with skipper Chamari Athapaththu smashing 102 runs off just 63 balls. Later, Sri Lanka restricted Scotland to 101/7 with Udeshika Prabodhani registering a three-wicket haul. Athapaththu, whose knock played a huge role in Sri Lanka's victory, also gave a hilarious moment when she survived a close dismissal.

Scott Edwards To Lead Netherlands In T20 World Cup

Experienced Scott Edwards was on Monday named as the captain of the Netherlands for next month's T20 World Cup, the Royal Dutch Cricket Association announced. The 27-year-old Edwards was elected the skipper despite his modest outings in the recent tri-series, involving hosts Nepal and Namibia. Overall, he has played 56 T20I for the Netherlands, scoring 671 runs at a strike-rate of 122. Indian-origin cricketers – Teja Nidamanuru, Vikram Singh and Aryan Dutt – are also part of the squad.
