Marnus Labuschagne is hoping to take his dominant form on Australian pitches to Pakistan and is leaving no stone unturned as he prepares for the three-Test tour. Labuschagne has been practising batting on his home balcony on a rubber mat laden with pieces of taped aluminium sheeting to try to emulate the variable bounce and turn of Pakistan wickets as Australia readies for its first tour there since 1998. The Australian number three said he had tried something similar before heading to England for a county season in 2019 which culminated in a strong Ashes series later that year.
Cape Town - Proteas Women's coach Hilton Moreeng believes his team's successful tour of New Zealand in 2020 will stand them in good stead heading into next month's ICC Women’s World Cup.
After winning the third and final T20I against West Indies, Team India became the number one ranked side in the shortest format of the game. The triumph helped India overtake England at the top of the T20I team rankings, with Rohit Sharma's side now matching the top rating of 269. While England and India both have the same rating (269), India have a total of 10,484 points, 10 more than England's 10,474. Pakistan (rating of 266), New Zealand (255) and South Africa (253) round out the top five countries, while Australia (249) remain in sixth after their 4-1 series victory over Sri Lanka.
Cape Town — The Proteas Women's team can no longer slip under the radar heading into the Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, according to captain Sune Luus.
Indian seamers fired in unison after Suryakumar Yadav's belligerent fifty as the hosts coasted to a series-sweeping 17-run win over the West Indies in the third and final T20I in Kolkata on Sunday. After Deepak Chahar limped off the field after failing to complete the third over due to a hamstring injury, Harshal Patel (3/22), Venkatesh Iyer (2/23 from 2.1 overs) and Shardul Thakur (2/33) performed their tasks impressively to defend India's 184/5. Wicket-keeper batter Nicholas Pooran continued his fine form slamming a third successive fifty (61 off 47 balls; 8x4, 1x6) but it was not enough as West Indies managed just 167 for nine.
