Watch: How Marnus Labuschagne Is Preparing To Bat On Spin-friendly Pitches

Australia's Marnus Labuschagne shared a video on Twitter where he is seen playing in his home backyard where he recreated a surface akin to spin-driendly pitches in the sub-continent. Labuschange will soon be on the flight to Pakistan, where Australia will be playing a Test series after more than two decades. The video shows a rubber mat with aluminum and metal sheets taped to it that is cut into pieces in order to replicate the cracks that appear on the subcontinent pitches as the game proceeds. The Australian number three said he had tried something similar before heading to England for a county season in 2019 which culminated in a strong Ashes series later that year.

Australia open to splitting coaching role after Justin Langer exit

Cricket Australia is open to splitting the head coach's role for its men's team following Justin Langer's exit, CA chairman Lachie Henderson said on Monday, conceding it was taxing for one person to coach across formats. Langer, who guided Australia to their maiden Twenty20 World Cup in November and a 4-0 Ashes triumph against England subsequently, rejected a short-term extension and resigned this month. Andrew McDonald has been appointed on an interim basis ahead of the team's tour of Pakistan next month and is considered a front-runner for a permanent role.
