Trouble Hits PSL 2025 Before Opener As Team Hotel In Islamabad Catches Fire

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 is all set to begin on Friday but the teams were left concerned after a fire broke out on the sixth floor of the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, where the players were staying. The district administration confirmed that the fire originated on the top floor and the fire department quickly took care of the situation. None of the guests and staff, which included PSL cricketers and officials, were injured because of the fire and they were evacuated properly. “None of the players or franchises faced any difficulties. The fire was extinguished on time. It did not spread to the interior of the hotel,” PSL CEO Salman Naseer told Samaa TV.

'Yashasvi Jaiswal Sudhar Jao': Ex-Pakistan Captain's Blunt Warning For Out-Of-Form Star

Yashasvi Jaiswal has had a poor start to Indian Premier League 2025. The southpaw has scored only 107 runs in 5 matches at an average of 21.40. Out of the five innings, Jaiswal has got out thrice for single-digit scores. Jaiswal has simply failed to find his rhythm and has looked scratchy at the crease during his knocks so far. Amid the batter's poor form, former Pakistan captain Basit Ali has sent him a stern warning. Basit believes that the likes of Sai Sudharsan and Priyansh Arya could make it tough for Jaiswal to keep his spot in the Indian team. The former Pakistan batter shared his opinion while analysing the Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals match that took place on Wednesday.

PCB Planning To Have Conference With Players, Coaches, National Selectors

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to have a conference with players, coaches, national selectors and mentors during or after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to "resolve some internal issues" in the national team. A source said on Thursday that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi was not happy with the way matters related to the team had been handled so far by all the stakeholders. "There has been a lack of proper communication between the team captains, coaches and selectors in recent months and this has led to senior players including ODI and Test captains, Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood not being happy at decisions being taken by over-riding their views in selection and other team matters," the source said.
