The British and Irish Lions will send a women's team to New Zealand for a historic three-Test series in September 2027. The inaugural women's Lions tour will feature three clashes against the current world champions. A Lions statement on Tuesday morning confirmed the tour will not overlap with that year's men's World Cup and will include warm-up fixtures, but said the full schedule had not yet been finalised. British and Irish Lions chief executive Ben Calveley said: "Playing three Test matches against the current world champions, the Black Ferns in New Zealand, in front of thousands of fans represents the ultimate challenge and makes for a fantastic sporting spectacle. "We look forward to working with all our stakeholders including New Zealand Rugby to finalise an exciting inaugural tour."

Young Pakistan fast bowler Abbas Afridi was on Tuesday ruled out of the third T20I while hosts New Zealand lost the services of their captain Kane Williamson for the remainder of the five-match series. The Pakistan team management confirmed in a statement that a low grade abdominal muscle strain to Afridi will keep him out of the third T20I, with a decision on his availability for the remaining two matches to be taken later. “His scan has shown no sign of significant injury, and he will be managed symptomatically. His availability for the last two games will be made at a later stage,” the management statement said.

Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed got angry at a fan who called him 'chachu' during the second T20I against New Zealand in Hamilton on Sunday. Notably, Iftikhar's nickname is 'chachu' (uncle) which was given to him by Babar Azam. He has been often referred to as 'chachu' by his teammates and fans of cricket. However, Iftikhar wasn't happy with a fan calling him by the same while he was fielding near the boundary at the Seddon Park. The players asked the fan to not call him 'chachu', to which the fan replied saying that he is a fan of him.
