1st Time In History: Ben Duckett Achieves Unique Feat With Massive Champions Trophy 2025 Ton

Opener Ben Duckett struck a Champions Trophy record score of 165 off 143 balls as England racked up the highest total in the event's history after making 351-8 against Australia on Saturday. The 30-year-old left-hander smashed his highest ODI score, and third century, as England built a commanding total after being sent in to bat on a flat Gaddafi Stadium pitch in Lahore. Duckett hit 17 four and three sixes to beat the previous best individual score of 145 in the Champions Trophy. New Zealand's Nathan Astle (2004) and Zimbabwean Andy Flower (2002) had shared the record. In their opening Group B encounter, England also surpassed the previous highest innings tally in tournament history of 347-4 by New Zealand against the USA at The Oval in 2004.

Virat Kohli Takes Extreme Step To Combat Poor Form Ahead Of India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy 2025 Clash

Indian superstar Virat Kohli meant business a day before the marquee clash against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy as he arrived at the ICC Academy two hours before scheduled practice time to iron out his issues against spin. Kohli, who was troubled by the ball outside off-stump from the pacers on the Test tour of Australia, has been found vulnerable against spin in the recent ODIs he has played. The 36-year-old fell to leg-spinner Rishad Hossain in India's opening Champions Trophy game against Bangladesh on Thursday, his sixth dismissal in a row against spinners in ODIs.

'Country Comes First...': After R Ashwin, Ex-Pakistan Star's Brutal Take On Babar Azam

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has slammed Babar Azam for prioritising personal milestones over team success and expressed concerns about Pakistan's preparations ahead of their marquee Champions Trophy clash against India in Dubai on Sunday. The former Pakistan captain, who recently lost his ODI No. 1 ranking to Shubman Gill, was blamed for his slow knock of 64 off 90 balls in the Champions Trophy opener against New Zealand. His inability to accelerate the run rate and dismissal in the crucial 34th over contributed to Pakistan's 60-run defeat, putting their title defence in jeopardy. Kaneria pointed out Pakistan's struggling batting lineup, accusing Azam of focusing more on his individual performance than the team's success.

India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy 2025: Preview, Team News, Likely Combinations

Hyped as a marquee showdown but mostly lopsided on the field, India and Pakistan lock horns in the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai on Sunday with Rohit Sharma's men aiming to seal a semifinal spot and Mohammad Rizwan's team desperate to avoid early elimination from the tournament. While India are on a high after claiming a measured six-wicket win over a sprightly Bangladesh, Pakistan are evidently tense after the 60-run loss in the tournament-opener against New Zealand.
