MANCHESTER, England — Once a model of coaching stability in Alex Ferguson’s long trophy-filled tenure, Manchester United hired a fifth full-time manager in nine years since his retirement by bringing in Erik ten Hag from Ajax.
Premier League club Manchester United on Thursday announced the appointment of Erik ten Hag as its new full time manager. The Dutchman, who has been the manager at Ajax Amsterdam since 2017, will take over from interim manager Ralph Rangnick at the end of the season. His contract runs till June 2025. He has won the Dutch Eredivisie twice with Ajax and has also won the domestic Cup in Netherlands twice. He also guided a young Ajax team to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League in the 2018-19 season.
