PARIS: There were jubilant scenes on the Champs-Elysees avenue in central Paris on Wednesday as French supporters waved tricolor flags and let off flares to celebrate the win over Morocco that put Les Bleus into the World Cup final.
They may have fallen just short of reaching the World Cup final, but Moroccans on Wednesday hailed their team's historic run as it ended with a 2-0 defeat to reigning champions France.
They came, they fought hard, but alas, injuries, fatigue and a determined France stopped Morocco from making history as the first country outside Europe and South America to play in the final game of the World Cup.

AL KHOR, Qatar : France's Antoine Griezmann proved once again that he is the ultimate team player with another virtuoso performance to help guide his team to a second consecutive World Cup final on Wednesday with their 2-0 win over Morocco.
BRUSSELS : Around 100 soccer fans, some wrapped in Moroccan flags, briefly clashed with police on Wednesday evening in central Brussels, after Morocco lost 2-0 to France in the World Cup semi-final, according to Reuters reporters on the scene.
Reigning champions France kept their composure to edge out Morocco 2-0 and book their place in the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
