LIBREVILLE : Gabon captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has announced his retirement from international football, just weeks before qualifying starts for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Both West African giants will flex muscles at the Stade General Seyni Kountché in the Nigerien capital as from 5pm, with the winner certain to be on firm footing for a place in the semi finals from a pool boasting only three teams. Burkina Faso is the other team in the group, and they will take on the Flying Eagles on Wednesday next week.

JOHANNESBURG: African champions Senegal were handed a regulation draw for the Cup of Nations group qualifiers that kick off in June.
Bafana Bafana was drawn alongside Morocco, neighbours Zimbabwe and Liberia in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers for the tournament taking place in the Ivory Coast in May and June next year.
Three-time champions and four-time runners-up, Nigeria, will know their group opponents when the draw for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification series is staged at the SuperSport Studio in Johannesburg, South Africa on Tuesday evening. The event will commence at 6.30 pm Nigeria time (which is 7.30pm in South Africa).
