Sinead Farrelly ends Republic of Ireland career after just eight caps
Republic of Ireland international Sinead Farrelly has announced a surprise retirement after just a year with the side. The US-born midfielder made her debut in April 2023 and played in eight games overall, including all three of Ireland's Group B games at the 2023 World Cup and in three Nations League fixtures. Farrelly is currently playing with NJ/NY Gotham in the NWSL but has called time on her international career without giving a reason for the early departure.
