After steering India to a four-wicket win over England in the ODI series opener with a calm 87, top-order batter Shubman Gill said he was not focused on getting his century, and was just looking at the field placements set for him at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur. “No, I wasn't thinking about my century. I was focused on the field placements and played my shots accordingly. I wanted to dominate the bowler, and I would have played the same shot even if I was in my 60s,” said Gill to Disney Hotstar.

India are off to a fiery start in the three-match ODI series against England. Rohit Sharma and co registered a thumping four-wicket win in the first ODI and took 1-0 lead on Thursday. Playing in Nagpur, England got bundled out for 248 after opting to bat first. Debutant Harshit Rana and Ravindra Jadeja were the star bowlers for India with their respective three-wicket hauls. Later, India fumbled a bit but half-centuries from Shubman Gill, Axar Patel, and Shreyas Iyer took the hosts across the line in 38.4 overs.
