Sports journalist Boria Majumdar found guilty; faces two-year ban in Wriddhiman Saha text case: Report

Boria Majumdar has reportedly been found guilty in the Wriddhiman Saha text case and faces a two-year ban for the same, says a report in the Indian Express. The news comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) set up a three-member committee in February, comprising vice-president Rajiv Shukla, treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal, and Apex Council member Prabhtej Singh Bhatia to look into the matter where Saha took to Twitter to post a screenshot of threatening messages from Majumdar over an interview request. "We will be informing all state units of the Indian cricket board to not allow him inside stadiums. He won't be given media accreditation for home matches and we will also be writing to ICC to blacklist him. Players will be asked not to engage with him," a top BCCI official was quoted as saying in the report on condition of anonymity. On February 19, Saha wrote on Twitter while sharing the screenshot of the chat, "After all of my contributions to Indian cricket...this is what I face from a so called "Respected" journalist! This is where the journalism has gone."

IPL 2022: Shane Watson Reacts To Ravi Shastri's "Overcooked" Comment On Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli is currently going through a lean patch with the bat as he has managed to score just 119 runs in eight matches. Kohli's last international ton came in 2019 against Bangladesh and since then, the three-figure mark has eluded the former skipper. Recently, former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri suggested that Virat should look to take a break as he looks "overcooked". Now, Delhi Capitals' assistant coach Shane Watson has also said that there is something different about the India batter but he backed Kohli to return to form soon.

Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) head coach Brendon McCullum backed his batters and said that they have been 'predominantly' good. Needing 29 runs in the last two overs, Gujarat's Alzarri Joseph delivered a heroic 20th over and dismissed Andre Russell for 25-ball 48, to register an eight-run win. We have got 170-plus batting first (against Sunrisers Hyderabad), our batters have been predominantly very good," said McCullum in a post-match press conference.
