IPL 2022 Qualifier 2, RCB vs RR: Royal Challengers Bangalore have slight edge against Rajasthan Royals

Rajat Patidar took them past the Eliminator, Royal Challengers Bangalore will fancy their chances against Rajasthan Royals here on Friday night. Delhi High Court Places Hockey India Under Committee Of Administrator For Sports Code Violation

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday placed Hockey India under a three-member Committee of Administrators (CoA) to run its day-to-day affairs after observing that the sports body has violated the National Sports Code. The HC ruling came on a petition filed by former India player Aslam Sher Khan, who had challenged Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Narinder Batra's appointment as life member of Hockey India. The HC held that HI's appointment of Batra as 'Life Member' and Elena Norman as CEO were illegal under the Sports Code.

Indian Olympic President Narinder Batra Says He Will Not Run For Second Term

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Narinder Batra on Wednesday announced that he will not seek re-election for the top job after the Delhi High court declared the posts he held in Hockey India as "illegal". Batra had filed his nomination for the IOA president's post in 2017 as a representative (life member) of Hockey India and won the election. But the Delhi HC on Wednesday declared the position Batra had held in HI as "illegal" since it was not in consonance with the National Sports Code. Wriddhiman Saha "Not Willing" To Play For Bengal In Ranji Trophy Knockouts

Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha on Thursday made it official to the Cricket Association of Bengal that he is "not willing" to play for the state team in upcoming Ranji Trophy knockouts. This effectively brings an end to Saha's glorious career with Bengal from where he made his Ranji debut in November 2007 and went on to play 122 first-class and 102 List A matches. "The Cricket Association of Bengal wanted Wriddhiman Saha to play for Bengal at this crucial juncture especially when Bengal would be fighting in the knockout stage in a bid to win the Ranji Trophy after becoming the top ranked team in the country at the end of the Group Stage," CAB president Avishek Dalmiya said in a statement.
