Pakistan captain Babar Azam wants World Cup glory to fulfil boyhood dreams

Babar Azam hopes that his extraordinary run-scoring can fire Pakistan to World Cup glory -- and in the process fulfil a childhood dream. The 27-year-old is in the form of his life across the three formats of international cricket and last week became the first batsman to hit three consecutive centuries on two separate occasions in ODIs. But Azam told AFP that his prolific form will count for little if it does not bring success at the T20 World Cup in October in Australia and the 50-over showpiece in India next year.

Asian Cup qualifiers: With a 'wonderful headache', Stimac's India eye the 'big prize'

Stimac's India brace for Hong Kong's challenge at that Salt Lake Stadium here on Tuesday, looking for a perfect end to their Asian Cup qualifying campaign. Both teams go into the contest with six points each, but Jorn Anderson's Hong Kong are topping the standings thanks to a better goal difference. Neeraj Chopra Set To Return To Field For First Time After Tokyo Olympics

Tokyo Olympics champion Neeraj Chopra is all set for his much-awaited return to competitive action at the Paavo Nurmi Games 2022, to be held here at the Paavo Nurmi Stadium in Turku, Finland on Tuesday. The Indian javelin superstar has not competed since winning his historic gold medal at Tokyo 2020. The 24-year-old's return to the field, however, will be nothing short of baptism by fire. The Paavo Nurmi Games, a gold event in the World Athletics Continental Tour, is one of the biggest track-and-field competitions outside the Diamond League and this year's event has a super stacked field.

India vs South Africa, 3rd T20I, South Africa Predicted XI: Will Quinton de Kock Be Back?

South Africa have played exceptionally well in the ongoing T20I series against India and this is the main reason, behind them standing on the cusp of registering a series victory. If the Proteas are able to win the third T20I, they will gain an unassailable 3-0 lead. So far, the Proteas have chased down totals of 212 and 149 and they have fully capitalised on winning the toss. It would be interesting to see whether Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram would be back for this game or not.
