Supreme Court To Hear Appeal Of IOA Against Delhi High Court Order

The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to hear during the day itself the appeal of the Indian Olympic Association challenging the Delhi High Court direction for setting up of a three-member Committee of Administrators (COA) to take over the affairs of the sports body. A bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana took note of the submissions of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the appointment of the CoA may lead to the Association's suspension by the International Olympic Committee as it happened in the case of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) recently.

India's swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on Wednesday said the team is "slightly nervous" as it prepares for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, having been knocked out in the group stage in the last edition. The showpiece will be held in Australia in October-November. "With the World Cup around the corner, the whole team is slightly nervous, but at the same time, as a team, we love to give our 100 per cent and focus on our process. That's the only thing we can do," Pant said on the sidelines of an event organised by Visit Victoria, the tourism board of the State of Victoria.
