West Indies Announce T20 World Cup Squad, Evin Lewis Returns To Team

Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Wednesday announced the squad for the upcoming International Cricket Council's (ICC) Men's T20 World Cup, which will take place from October-November this year. The panel confirmed fifteen (15) players who will represent the West Indies for the eighth ICC T20 World Cup, which will be played in Australia from October 16 to November 13. The West Indies are the only team to have won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup twice, in Sri Lanka in 2012 and in India in 2016. The West Indies' campaign to win an unprecedented third ICC Men's T20 World Cup title starts on October 17, when they take on Scotland in the first of three Group B fixtures played at the Bellerive Oval, in Hobart, Tasmania to qualify for the Super 12 phase of the tournament.

Ace Indian equestrian Fouaad Mirza is all set for the FEI World Championship Eventing, starting at the historic Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy on Thursday. With Thandi's exit, the Indian challenge in the singles draw came to an end. The country's No.1 Ankita Raina had gone down to Tatjana Maria in round one on Tuesday. Bouchard was untroubled for a major part of the first set and looked set to run away with it before the Indian No.2 fought back and won two games. Inconsistency cost Thandi as the former world No.5 Canadian closed out the set 6-2.

Robin Uthappa announces retirement from all forms of cricket

Robin Uthappa, one of the heroes of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning national team, on Wednesday announced his retirement from all forms of "Indian cricket". The 36-year-old Uthappa, who last played for India in 2015, made the announcement on his social media handles. "It has been my greatest honour to represent my country and my state, Karnataka. However, all good things must come to an end, and with a grateful heart, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket," Uthappa said.
