After Olympics Loss, Lakshya Sen Reveals Deepika Padukone Called Him And "She Said..."

Lakshya Sen was India's best-performing badminton star at the Paris Olympics 2024. He became the first Indian male shuttler to enter the semi-final of an Olympics. However, he missed the medal by a whisker. He went down to Viktor Axelsen in the semi-final and then also lost the bronze medal match to Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia. Those two results broke a billion hearts who were rooting for the rising star.. "After the match (semi-finals), I was devastated. It's going to hurt for a while that I couldn't give India the medal at this Olympics. I knew I was going to face Viktor Axelsen in the match and the way I had prepared, things were fine. Overall, I had the right tactics. I had the right approach. At the crucial stages I could have been a little more clinical. Now that I sit back and think, I know there are some things that I could have done better. Everything was fine, but towards the end, I wasn't able to get there," Lakshya said in a chat with Humans of Bombay.

Indian badminton star Lakshya Sen impressed everyone with his performance at the Paris Olympics 2024 but he failed to secure the bronze medal by the smallest of margins. Lakshya became the first Indian male player to reach the badminton semi-finals at the Olympics but his dream of reaching the gold medal match was ended after a loss against top seed Viktor Axelsen. Lakshya faced Lee Zii Jia in the bronze medal match but he once again was defeated. Although he did not manage to add an Olympic medal to his name, his performance earned him a lot of praise and during a recent interaction, the youngster revealed his dream of becoming the "Virat Kohli of Indian badminton in coming years".

Afghanistan cricket's poster boy Rashid Khan will not play the Test format in the near future to nurse his back after having undergone a surgery last year. A source in the Afghanistan Cricket Board told PTI that Rashid and the team management had decided mutually on his break from the longest format considering his back issues. Earlier this week, he was not named in the preliminary squad for the one-off Test against New Zealand in Greater Noida from September 9.
