Kazakhstan's Rybakina, ranked 25th in the world and the last remaining seed in this hard court tournament, raced to a 5-0 lead in the first set but needed a tiebreak after Czech Siniakova fought back. Rybakina was a break up at 4-3 in the second set, but Siniakova again fought back and this time took the tiebreak with her third set point.

Magda had a triple break point in the third game of that set but Linda staved off the challenge to hold serve for a 2-1 lead. If that wasn't enough, in the fifth game --- Magda had a breakpoint but Linda once again held her ground for a 3-2 lead. However, Magda finally broke her opponent in the 9th game to go 5-4 up. Magda then went on to wrap up the first set on her first set point in 57 minutes.
When Paul O'Donovan and Fintan McCarthy settle down into their boat in the Czech Republic for the World Rowing Championships, they will do so with their eyes firmly fixed on gold.

The 25th-ranked Kazakh eased through 6-1, 6-1 against the 65th-ranked Romanian to reach her third final of the season. Rybakina lost the final in Adelaide to Australian Ashleigh Barty, before her surprise Grand Slam success in July against Ons Jabeur at Wimbledon.
