Rishabh Pant Enters Top 10 In ICC Test Rankings. India Star Now At...

Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant and New Zealand's veteran Daryl Mitchell got the rewards of strong performances during the third Test in Mumbai as the two players have climbed to top 10 in latest ICC Test rankings released on Wednesday. After impressive half-centuries during the Test, Pant has climbed five spots to claim the sixth position in the Test Batter Rankings. This rise brings him close to his career-best ranking of fifth, which he last held in July 2022. Mitchell has also seen a substantial rise, climbing eight places to reach seventh overall after a first-inning score of 82 in Mumbai. He now joined his fellow New Zealander Kane Williamson, who holds the second position.

"No One Has Done It": New Zealand Great Ross Taylor On 3-0 Series Whitewash vs India

Former captain Daniel Vettori termed New Zealand's 3-0 Test series win on Indian soil as his country's greatest achievement while ex-batter Ross Taylor said he did not think of a clean sweep even "in our wildest dreams". India suffered a humiliating series whitewash after losing the third match by 25 runs to New Zealand in Mumbai on Sunday, the first time in their Test history, which goes back to 1933. New Zealand had come to India after being thrashed 0-2 by a Sri Lankan team that is in transition. The Black Caps were also without their biggest batting star, Kane Williamson, thanks to injury.

"Know The Feeling Of Running Drinks": New Zealand Batter Will Young After Clean Sweep vs India

Replacing a player of Kane Williamson's stature can be a daunting task but Will Young, who played a pivotal role in New Zealand's historic 3-0 Test series win in India, saw it as an opportunity to create his own mark after "running the drinks" as a reserve batter for four years. If New Zealand's batting appeared thin with Williamson not making it to India for the first Test in Bengaluru due to injury, the 31-year-old Young banished any such doubts with his unbeaten 48 as the Kiwis hammered the hosts by eight wickets.

Ajaz Patel Reveals How He Outfoxed Rishabh Pant To Seal Victory For New Zealand In 3rd Test

New Zealand's left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel had another memorable performance in the city of his birth – taking 11 wickets overall – to play the leading role in the visitors' completing the 3-0 series win over India at the Wankhede Stadium. At one point, the win seemed distant from New Zealand as wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was waging a lone battle. But Ajaz eventually found the spike on Pant's bat through a turning in delivery taking a glove edge to the keeper's gloves.

Gujarat Titans IPL 2025 Retentions: Full List Of Players Retained And Released

Shubman Gill was not named as Gujarat Titans' most expensive retention, with that honour going to Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. The franchise also kept hold of two surprise uncapped Indian players. Gujarat Titans left everyone utterly impressed as they clinched the IPL title in their inaugural season in 2022. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, they went on to play the final in IPL 2023 but lost lost to Chennai Super Kings. However in 2024, Hardik left the Gujarat-based franchise to reunite with his old team Mumbai Indians and Shubman Gill took as the skipper of the team. In that season, GT failed to get through the playoffs. GT have now announced the names of their retained players for the upcoming mega auctions.
