Hockey India congratulated PR Sreejesh on completing 250 international caps for India. The goalkeeper achieved this milestone during India's second match against Spain at the FIH Hockey Pro League on Sunday at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium. Arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Sreejesh began his journey with the Indian Men's Hockey team in 2006 at the South Asian Games in Sri Lanka but became a regular feature of the team only since 2011 - a year where he stood out with two match-winning saves in the Final of Asian Champions Trophy against Pakistan.

Para Archery World Championships: Pooja Jatyan wins historic silver

Pooja Jatyan on Sunday scripted history as she became the first Indian to win a silver in an individual section of the Para World Championships. Pooja lost to Italian Petrilli Vincenza in the summit clash to end her World Para Championships dream run with a silver medal. Eyeing to become the first woman archery world champion at the senior level, the 24-year-old from Gurugram was up against Tokyo Paralympics silver medalist from Italy in the final. Pooja, who is afflicted with polio since childhood, put up a valiant show racing to a 3-1 lead but the world No. 7 Italian used her vast experience to bounce back and down the Indian 3-7 (24-24, 23-21, 26-28, 24-26, 25-27).

Vinesh, Bajrang's return to competition since Tokyo marked by loss & injury

Vinesh Phogat's return to the competition mat didn't go as planned, as the reigning CWG and Asian Games champion went down tamely to USA's Jacarra Winchester in the semifinals of the Yasar Dogu international ranking series in Istanbul late on Saturday. Vinesh lost 3-7 to Winchester, a former world champion, in the women's freestyle 55kg category. The Indian wasn't participating in her usual weight category of 53kg at the meet.
