India went on to beat Australia by six wickets to level the three-match series 1-1 in a match shortened to eight overs per side. After the match, India all-rounder Hardik Pandya took to Twitter to make a special mention for the groundstaff, thanking them for making the match possible.

The fans at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur had to wait two-and-a-half-hours for the second T20I between India and Australia to finally get underway. Overnight rain left a few wet patches on the outfield and hence the match could not start on time on Friday evening. The match, which was slated to get underway at 7 PM finally began at 9:30 PM, and it was reduced to eight overs per side. In the end, it was Rohit Sharma and co that came out on the right side of the result, and hence series was brought on level terms at 1-1, with series decider set to be played on Sunday in Hyderabad.

India's bowling attack has come under the scanner recently, but star pacer Jasprit Bumrah on Friday showed exactly why his return was so highly anticipated with a peach of a delivery to castle Australia captain Aaron Finch in the third T20I in Nagpur. Finch looked in destructive mood until Bumrah came on to bowl in the shortened match and castled him with a low full toss. The delivery dipped on Finch and cramped him for space, and the Australia opener could not get his bat down on time. The ball went on hit his leg-stump, ending his knock of 31 off 15 deliveries.

HCA Not At Fault In Stampede-like Situation During Ticket Sale: Mohammed Azharuddin

Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Mohammed Azharuddin on Friday said he was very disappointed over the stampede-like situation at the Gymkhana Ground here during the sale of tickets for the India-Australia T20 match on September 25 but said the association is not at fault in the unfortunate incident. He refused to blame anybody and said he was very disappointed with what had happened. "I don't want to blame anybody. Why should I blame anybody. Actually, I am very disappointed with what happened. My heart goes to the families. We are taking care of them," he told reporters in Hyderabad when asked whom he held responsible for the stampede-like situation on Thursday.

Hyderabad Stampede: Four people were injured after a stampede broke out at Gymkhana grounds following a stampede which happened after massive amount of cricket fans gathered to purchase tickets for the third T20I match between India and Australia. The third T20I stadium between India and Australia will take place in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on September 25. A huge crowd had come to the Gymkhana grounds to purchase tickets. A large queue of fans was captured waiting to get their hands on tickets.

Tom Moody, the former Sunrisers Hyderabad coach, relinquished his post as the Director of Cricket with Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Sri Lanka Cricket's Executive Committee mutually agreed with Tom Moody, who was functioning as the Director of Cricket, to exit from his contract immediately. The Executive Committee of the Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC), after much deliberation, was of the opinion that Tom Moody's services are no longer required as he was directly reporting to the Technical Advisory Committee, which has ceased to exist now.
