Sri Lanka were tottering at 58/5 at one point after being put in to bat by Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 final in Dubai on Sunday, but Bhanuka Rajapaksa's brilliant unbeaten 71-run knock coupled with crucial cameos from Wanindu Hasaranga and Chamika Karunaratne helped take them to 170/6 in 20 overs. But in conditions where chasing teams have held a major edge, Sri Lanka had to get off to a tight start, but pacer Dilshan Madushanka gifted Pakistan a good boost in their chase.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa came to Sri Lanka's rescue in the ongoing Asia Cup final against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium. With his side reeling at 58 for five at one stage, Rajapaksa led Sri Lanka's charge with an unbeaten 71 off just 45 balls as the Islanders managed to post a total of 171 for six in 20 overs. However, Rajapaksa was dropped when he was batting on 54. One fan even alleged that cops were pushing fans away saying they could not enter in Indian team jerseys. The Twitter handle of 'The Bharat Army' shared a video of fans narrating the ordeal that they faced. "SHOCKING TREATMENT as The Bharat Army and other Indian Cricket Fans told they can not enter the stadium wearing 'India jerseys'!" the fan group tweeted.

After being put into bat, Sri Lanka's top-order failed to negate the new ball as Pakistan pacers ran riot in the powerplay.
