The Uttar Pradesh spinner, who was bought by DC at the IPL mega auction, said the freedom and security that he got from his new franchise helped him to perform this year. "When you are given the freedom to express yourself then you start to enjoy everything," said Kuldeep, who played for KKR for seven years from 2014 to 2021.

Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) head coach Brendon McCullum backed his batters and said that they have been 'predominantly' good. Needing 29 runs in the last two overs, Gujarat's Alzarri Joseph delivered a heroic 20th over and dismissed Andre Russell for 25-ball 48, to register an eight-run win. "Our batters have been very good so far. We scored 210-odd in the last game. We have got 170-plus batting first (against Sunrisers Hyderabad), our batters have been predominantly very good," said McCullum in a post-match press conference.

KKR's Andre Russell first bowler in IPL to take four wickets in an over

Andre Russell on Saturday became the first player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to achieve a four-wicket haul in a one-over spell. Russell achieved this feat during the clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the DY Patil stadium. He dismissed Abhinav Manohar, Lockie Ferguson, Rahul Tewatia and Yash Dayal in the 20th over of the GT innings to restrict them at 156/9. Earlier, the record of most wickets in a single over was held by Kolkata's Laxmi Ratan Shukla, who had registered a figure of 3/6 against Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) in 2008.

There was speculation that the BCCI will keep the playoffs in Mumbai and reduce the crowd capacity due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country, but the Board has decided to wait and watch the situation.
