Rishabh Pant - IPL 2022: 'Take 150-200 catches a day, convert nervousness into positive energy' - Maninder Singh's mantra to become a good fielder - timesofindia.indiatimes.com - India - Delhi - Bangalore

IPL 2022: 'Take 150-200 catches a day, convert nervousness into positive energy' - Maninder Singh's mantra to become a good fielder

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season is a prime example of good catches turning a game on its head. At the same time, a dropped catch is enough to show a team the exit door. Apart from a number of jaw-dropping and acrobatic efforts by the fielders, the IPL this year has also seen a number of catches being dropped. During the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals, DC captain Rishabh Pant made a mess of a caught behind chance off Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav. Karthik was batting on 5 when Pant failed to grasp Karthik's catch. Karthik went on to score an unbeaten 66 off 34 balls to eventually help RCB register a win. In another instance, in the Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants match LSG's Krunal Pandya put down a dolly at long-on off Krishnappa Gowtham. RR's Shimron Hetmyer was batting on 14 when he was dropped by Krunal and the Windies batsman made a mockery of the LSG bowlers and piled on an unbeaten 59 off 36 balls to help RR post 165 on the board. In reply, LSG managed 162 and lost the match by 3 runs.

IPL 2022: AB de Villiers Says This RCB Star Makes Him Want To Go Back To Playing Again

Dinesh Karthik has been in fine form for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) this season after being roped in by the franchise during the IPL mega auction. Karthik is currently leading RCB's run-scoring charts with 210 runs in seven matches. The veteran wicket-keeper's form and his performances as a finisher have prompted many to compare him with former South Africa skipper AB de Villiers. Ahead of RCB's game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), de Villiers shared his views on Karthik's purple patch, saying that he was shocked with the latter's form this season.

"Give Him A Contract": Ricky Ponting Reveals Former KKR Pacer Made IPL Debut Because Of Him

Former India bowler Ashoke Dinda represented the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during his long IPL career. Now it looks like the pacer's IPL career would never have kicked off, had it not been for none other than Ricky Ponting. Ponting had joined KKR in IPL's inaugural edition in 2008 and revealed that Dinda was originally a net bowler. But he bowled bouncers to all batters in every training session for a length of seven to 10 days and it left an impression on the former Australia captain, who ended up telling John Buchanan to give him a contract.

Watch: Marcus Stoinis Livid Upon Dismissal After Contentious Decision By Umpire In IPL 2022

Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was livid after being dismissed by Josh Hazlewood in the closing stages of their failed chase against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. With LSG needing 34 more to win, Stoinis moved across the stumps for the first delivery of the 19th over, but Hazlewood followed him and bowled it well wide. Stoinis left it alone but the umpire ruled it as a fair delivery, causing the Australian to gesticulate in frustration. Stoinis moved across the stumps again for the next delivery, expecting the pacer to go wide again, but this time Hazlewood bowled it into him and he only managed to get an inside edge onto the stumps, all but sealing the win for RCB.
