The Sports Ministry has sanctioned a total of 303 sportspersons -- 191 male and 112 female -- across 17 sporting disciplines for the Asian Para Games. Besides, the ministry also cleared a total of 143 coaches, escorts, officials and support staff. Out of the total number of athletes, 123 will only take part in athletics events. The 31-year-old Indian had battled excruciating back pain to secure India's first medal in men's singles in 41 years at Hangzhou but now he will have to sit out for two to three weeks due to the injury. "We are not looking at playing any tournament this month. Something also came up in the MRI as well, so I will have to be out for 2-3 weeks, so I will not be able to play Denmark and France," Prannoy told PTI.
