YAMOUSSOUKRO : Ismaila Sarr scored one goal and laid on another as defending champions Senegal beat Cameroon 3-1 on Friday and booked their place in the round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations, leaving their opponents in some peril.

ABIDJAN : Algeria are looking to end a four-game winless streak at the Africa Cup of Nations as they take on Burkina Faso in their second Group D match in Bouake on Saturday.

"I am satisfied the appropriate steps have been taken to make sure we will totally avoid the painful experience we had in Cameroon," Motsepe, the president of the Confederation of African Football, told reporters in Abidjan on the eve of the opening game between hosts Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau.
ABIDJAN : Goalkeeper Andre Onana is likely to be included in Cameroon’s line-up for Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations group game against holders Senegal after returning to training with the team on Wednesday.
