Nigel Farage has nine extra jobs and earns the highest amount of any MP outside of the Commons, new figures have revealed.
A developer intends to start ‘limited work’ on a controversial £240m project to build a Ryder Cup golf complex and more than 1,000 new homes. Peel Land has planning permission to develop the Hulton Park scheme, but only if Bolton is awarded the right to host the tournament in 2035.
Ruben Amorim says he does not know if unsettled Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford will leave Old Trafford before the transfer window closes. Rashford has not featured for 10 games after Amorim made the shock move to drop him for United's derby win at Manchester City in December. The 27-year-old responded to his omission by saying he was ready for a "new challenge", sparking reports that he would be sold by United before the end of the current transfer period on February 3. Linked with AC Milan, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, Rashford remains in exile, with United boss Amorim unclear when the situation will be resolved.
England right-back Kyle Walker has completed a loan move to AC Milan from Manchester City, the clubs announced on Friday. The 34-year-old Walker will join Milan for the remainder of the season in a deal that could become permanent in the summer. Walker endured a difficult campaign as City captain and had not started a game since their derby loss to Manchester United on December 15. He ends his long association with City, whom he joined from Tottenham in 2017, after winning six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League under Pep Guardiola.
Enzo Maresca believes England rising star Cole Palmer can do for Chelsea what Egypt forward Mohamed Salah has done for Premier League leaders Liverpool. Palmer demonstrated a composure beyond his 22 years as Chelsea ended a five-match winless run with a 3-1 victory over Wolves on Monday thanks in no small measure to his assured display in midfield late in the game. "He (Palmer) is improving a lot but not just in terms of numbers of goals and assists," said Maresca, whose fourth-placed side will continue their bid to qualify for the Champions League away to faltering English title-holders Manchester City on Saturday.
Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy insists he does not fear the sack as he tries to halt a seven-game losing slump that has left the club in the Premier League relegation zone. Van Nistelrooy took four points from his opening two games in charge after replacing Steve Cooper at the King Power Stadium at the start of December. But the honeymoon period quickly ended and the Foxes are second from bottom of the table, two points from safety ahead of their match at Tottenham on Sunday.
