Cricket West Indies have urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to give Caribbean nations a chance to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Games and avoid the region being "shut out of history". LA 2028 will see cricket returning to the Olympics for the first time since 1900, with a six-team T20 event in both the men's and women's game set to be included in the programme. The ICC, cricket's global governing body, have yet to announce the qualification process but there are concerns in the West Indies, long one of the sport's established major international teams and the one closest geographically to Los Angeles, that their constituent countries could be excluded.

Former India captain and renowned commentator Sunil Gavaskar lashed out at Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya for not bowling the final over in the rain-curtailed IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday. Playing at the Wankhede Stadium, GT were chasing 156 but due to the several rain breaks, they needed 15 runs in the 19th over to win the match. MI sent pacer Deepak Chahar but he also failed to defend the remaining runs as GT clinched the victory and climbed to the top of the points table.

Star batter Virat Kohli, on Sunday, added another record to his illustrious career as he became the first Asian batter to complete 100 half-centuries in T20s. He reached the milestone in style with a six off Wanindu Hasaranga to complete his third fifty of the season in 39 balls while chasing 174. He remained unbeaten at 62 as his side completed the chase in 17.3 overs with nine wickets hand. Former Australian opener David Warner became the first cricketer to notch up 100 half-centuries in T20 cricket. Kohli registered his 58th IPL fifty, bringing his tally of 50-plus scores in the league to 66 - matching Warner's record for the most 50 scores in IPL history.

Star India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli reunited with former Indian head coach and captain Rahul Dravid and former batting coach Vikram Rathour ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Jaipur on Sunday. This will be RR's first game at their primary home venue, Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. South Africa Cricket Team White-Ball Coach Rob Walter Resigns

South Africa's white-ball coach Rob Walter has resigned from the role, Cricket South Africa announced on Tuesday. CSA said that Walter's resignation for "personal reasons" will come into effect on April 30. Walter was barely two years into a four-year contract which was due to end with the Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in 2027. Walter, 49, took South Africa to the final of the T20 World Cup in Barbados in 2024, the country's first global final since South Africa won the first Champions Trophy in 1998. He was also in charge when they reached the semi-finals of the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India and the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
