Asitha Fernando had struck early for Sri Lanka, dismissing Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudul Hasan Joy in quick succession. In between Tamim and Hasan's dismissal, Bangladesh also lost the wickets of Najmul Hussain Shanto and skipper Mominul Haque.
