Pakistan May Pull Out Of Asia Cup After 'Hybrid Model' Is Rejected: Report

Left with no option after Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan backed out of their proposed 'Hybrid Model', hosts Pakistan may pull out of the Asia Cup in September. According to the 'Hybrid Model' proposed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi, Pakistan were to conduct 3 to 4 games of the Asia Cup in their country, while the rest of the matches involving India could be held at a neutral venue. The idea was floated after India refused to travel to Pakistan because of security concerns. However, it has become clear now that Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have all backed the BCCI's push for moving the tournament out of Pakistan.

'Ultimate Test': India Face Tough Australia Challenge As It Aims To End ICC Title Drought

A formidable bunch of Indian cricketers will require a perfect blend of skill and temperament when it clashes with an equally-strong Australia in the World Test Championship final, starting Wednesday, with an aim to end a decade-long global trophy jinx. India have been the most consistent side over the past two WTC cycles and also reached knockout phases of major white-ball tournaments over the last 10 years but a trophy has eluded them. The last major ICC trophy India won was way back in 2013 when it bagged the Champions Trophy in England.

Five-star Josh Tongue Strikes As England Down Ireland In One-Off Test

Debutant fast bowler Josh Tongue marked his call-up into the Ashes squad with a five-wicket haul as England beat Ireland by 10 wickets inside three days at Lord's but only after a record partnership of 163 between tailenders Mark Adair and Andy McBrine. England were well-placed for an innings win when Ireland started the day needing 255 more runs to make Ben Stokes's men bat again. But Ireland, handicapped by the absence of injured opener James McCollum kept England at bay while Harry Tector (51) and Lorcan Tucker helped add 118 runs in the morning session for the loss of just three wickets.

Not Rahul Dravid Or Sourav Ganguly! Virender Sehwag Picks Pakistan Great As Best Middle-Order Batter

Legendary Indian cricket team opener Virender Sehwag picked Pakistan's Inzamam-ul-Haq as the best ever middle-order batsman of Asia. In the recent episode of “Breakfast with Champions” hosted by Gaurav Kapoor, Sehwag explained how the former Pakistan skipper embodied fearless batting even in the early 2000s and also made it clear why he picked Inzamam over Sachin Tendulkar.  Calling Tendulkar “a league of his own”, Sehwag said that Inzamam is the best among the “rest” and he was one of the few batters in Asia who were not bothered by rising required run rates.
