Ending months of speculation around Asia Cup, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Thursday announced that the tournament will be staged in a hybrid model with four games in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka from August 31 to September 17. The deadlock over the staging of the 50-over tournament was broken last week when the Jay Shah-led ACC accepted Pakistan Cricket Board's hybrid model of conducting four non-India games in Pakistan. The hybrid model was proposed as the BCCI had made it clear that it won't send its team to Pakistan due to the longstanding geo-political tensions between the two countries.
The Asia Cup 2023 will take place from August 31 to September 17, the Asian Cricket Council announced on Thursday. The tournament will feature India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal with the teams competing in a total of 13 ODI matches. The release from the ACC confirmed that the tournament will be held in a hybrid model where Pakistan will host four matches while the remaining nine matches will take place in Sri Lanka.
India has lost again. A country with rich seams of cricketing talent, a governing board with an abundance of money, and a team worshipped by millions of adoring supporters was beaten by Australia in the World Test Championship final at The Oval, London.

Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain both hit unbeaten half-centuries to guide Bangladesh to 134-1 in their second innings and consolidate the hosts' control in their one-off Test against Afghanistan in Dhaka on Thursday. Bangladesh decided against enforcing the follow-on despite taking a 236-run lead in the first innings and were up by 370 at stumps on the second day, with Zakir and Najmul unbeaten on 54 apiece. Bangladesh vs Afghanistan one-off Test Live Score:A new challenge awaits the brave Afghanistan side that has grown leaps and bounds over the last couple of years. Having ascertained their status as a dangerous white-ball team, Afghanistan would look to elevate their credentials as a Test team too as they take on Bangladesh in a one-off Test. However, the Afghans will be missing their talismanic spinner Rashid Khan in the match. So would be Bangladesh who are without the services of Shakib al Hasan in the contest. (LIVE Scorecard)
