Cricket's world governing body said Tuesday that a review of last week's second Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand had found it found the pitch "unsatisfactory". Fifteen wickets fell on the opening day of the match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, with neither side making more than 180 in an innings. New Zealand won the Test to level the two-match series 1-1 on Saturday but captain Tim Southee afterwards criticised the pitch as the "worst wicket" he had come across in his long career.
Uday Saharan will be leading India in the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa next year, as the same side from the ongoing U-19 Asia Cup has been retained for the global showpiece beginning on January 19. The 19-year-old Punjab lad would also be leading the side during a tri-series in South Africa, also involving England, from December 29, with Saumy Kumar Pandey being his deputy.
Seam bowler Raj Limbani bowled an incisive spell to record the brilliant figures of 7/13 as India cruised to a 10-wicket victory over Nepal to clinch a semi-final berth in the U-19 Asia Cup cricket tournament in Dubai on Tuesday. After shooting out Nepal for just 52 runs in 22.1 overs, courtesy Limbani's superb performance, all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni (43 not out), kept the IPL scouts interested with five huge sixes to knock off the runs in just 7.1 overs. Having lost to arch-rivals Pakistan by eight wickets in an earlier game, India colts, led by Uday Saharan, needed to win their final league game to qualify for the knock-out stage and they absolutely dominated the proceedings against the boys from Himalayan nation.
Gautam Gambhir is a straight and honest talker. He has never shied away from making honest comments, even if that has led to controversies. The former Indian cricket team opener, who was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup-winning teams, was never a skipper for the national side. However, in the IPL he led Kolkata Knight Riders to the title. Recently an old video went viral on the social media, where Gautam Gambhir could be seen talking about his removed as vice-captain after India failed to qualify for the final of the CB series.
He’s got the earring. He’s got the exhaustive repertoire of shots. He’s got the mix of swagger and composure. He loves a run chase. And he was even born in Delhi.

Bangladesh spin bowling sensation Nahida Akter on Monday clinched the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for November for her wicket-taking exploits during last month's competitive ODI series victory over Pakistan on home soil. The International Cricket Council (ICC) today revealed the ICC Men's and Women's Player of the Month award winners for November 2023 after shortlists were announced on Thursday last week.
