Huge News For Mumbai Indians! Hardik Pandya Returns To Competitive Cricket Ahead Of IPL 2024

Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya has made his much awaited return to the field of cricket as he leads the Reliance 1 side in the DY Patil T20 tournament. Pandya has not played international cricket for India since suffering an ankle injury during India's ICC Cricket World Cup group stage match against Bangladesh in October last year. He missed out on the series of five T20Is against Australia at home, the tour to South Africa as well, which consisted of three ODIs and T20Is each. Suryakumar Yadav, the number-one ranked T20I batter, stepped up as captain in Pandya's absence.

"BPL Is Like A Circus": Bangladesh Cricket Team Head Coach's Fiery Rant On T20 League

Bangladesh cricket team head coach Chandika Hathurusingha said that the country does not have a proper T20 tournament and launched a fiery rant on Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The T20 tournament is currently underway but in a recent interview with  ESPNCricinfo, Hathurusingha said that he sometimes turns off the TV while watching the matches and even went on to point out that some players in the competition are not of the "required class". Sri Lanka T20I Skipper Wanindu Hasaranga Gets Two-Match Ban By ICC

New Sri Lanka Twenty20 captain Wanindu Hasaranga was given a two-match ban by the International Cricket Council on Saturday for abusing an umpire during this week's series-ending loss against Afghanistan. The 26-year-old remonstrated with onfield umpire Lyndon Hannibal after the match for failing to call a no-ball on a high delivery to Kamindu Mendis in the final over, when Sri Lanka needed 11 from three balls. The ICC said in a statement the encounter had breached its code of conduct on "personal abuse", with Hasaranga accumulating enough demerit points over the past two years to earn the ban and a fine of 50 percent of his match fee.

Big Blow For Gujarat Titans - Mohammed Shami To Miss IPL 2024 For This Reason: Report

Senior pacer Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of next month's Indian Premier League owing to a left ankle injury, for which he will undergo a surgery in the UK, a BCCI source told PTI on Thursday. The 33-year-old, who is not part of the ongoing Test series against England, last played for India in the ODI World Cup final against Australia in November. "Shami was in London in last week of January to take special ankle injections and he was told that after three weeks, he can start light running and take it from thereon. "But the injection hasn't worked and now the only option left is surgery. He will shortly leave for UK for surgery. IPL seems out of question," a senior BCCI source said on the condition of anonymity.
