Daniel Ricciardo is remaining bullish about his team's chances of winning a race before the end of the year despite McLaren's wretched start to the 2022 season. Just a few weeks before lights out in Bahrain there was a real sense of optimism for the team but, just two difficult races in, much of the positivity has faded away.
F1 returns to Albert Park for the first Australian GP since 2019, after the 2020 event got cancelled when a member of the paddock tested positive for COVID-19, just days before the global pandemic struck, while F1 wasn’t able to return to Melbourne in 2021.
Although Mercedes “haven’t got it right” with their W13, F1 technical consultant Rob Smedley is confident they’ll soon be back at the sharp end of the grid.
