Sri Lanka completed a massive 246-run win in the 2nd Test match over Pakistan to draw the two-match series 1-1. Pakistan had chased down a huge total in the fourth innings to win the first Test but it wasn't to be this time around as Lankan spinner Prabath Jayasuriya picked up a 5-wicket haul in the 2nd innings. Ramesh Mendis ended the match with 9 wickets, 1 more than Jayasuriya.

The tourists won the opener with a Galle record chase of 342 and fought hard to outdo themselves, with the in-form Azam scoring his 23rd Test fifty and putting on brave stands with overnight partner Imam-ul-Haq (49) and Mohammad Rizwan (37).

India's Commonwealth Games ambitions have been badly hit by the last-minute withdrawal of Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra but they still have high hopes of gold in several sports including boxing and badminton. The Commonwealth's most populous country is not generally known as a global sporting powerhouse -- except for cricket -- but it has regularly performed well at the Games. India came third in the medals table behind hosts Australia, and England, at the last edition of the Games at the Gold Coast in 2018, and were in the top five at the previous four.
