Ravi Shastri had very little tolerance for failure: Dinesh Karthik

The 37-year-old had played sporadically during Shastri's tenure as India coach, especially during the 2019 World Cup. The Shastri-Kohli tenure was a good one for Indian cricket but often the duo was criticised for not standing by a few players, who probably needed a bit more empathy during their lean patch. "He (Shastri) had a very low tolerance for somebody who wouldn't bat at a certain pace he did not like or someone who was doing very differently in the nets and in the match, he would go and bat differently," Karthik said on Cricbuzz docuseries 'Summer Stalemate'.

"Shameful": Shoaib Akhtar Slams Marcus Stoinis For Accusing Pakistan Pacer Of Chucking

Legendary Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar did not mince his words as he tore into Marcus Stoinis after the Australian all-rounder made a gesture where he seemingly accused pacer Mohammad Hasnain of chucking during the ongoing Hundred tournament in England. Stoinis was dismissed by Hasnain during Southern Brave's defeat to the Oval Invincibles and as he walked back to the pavilion, he was seen imitating a bowling action that suggested the bowler was chucking. Sharing images of the same on Twitter, Shoaib Akhtar wrote "Shameful gesture by @MStoinis regarding bowling action of @MHasnainPak during #TheHundred2022."

Daniil Medvedev gets US Open prep back on track with win in Cincinnati

Cincinnati Open on Tuesday. Medvedev had been building momentum ahead of the year's last Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows by winning a tune-up event in Los Cabos without dropping a set but was beaten by Nick Kyrgios in the second round of the Canadian Masters in Montreal last week. The Russian starting strongly against Dutchman Van de Zandschulp with an immediate break before going on to win the first set. The second set posed more of a challenge, with the world number one having to save a set point, but he capitalised on several double-faults from Van de Zandschulp before wrapping up the match. "The second set was going not that bad," Medvedev said in an on-court interview. "He was not serving especially well today, doing a lot of double faults. So I tried to keep pressure, use my chances. "Two breaks on these fast courts is enough to win and I should have done a little bit better on my serve. But the first match is tricky and I'm happy that I managed to go though, and hopefully I will raise my level in the next matches."
