Mikaela Shiffrin tied Lindsey Vonn‘s female record with her 137th career Alpine skiing World Cup podium, taking third place in the slalom at the World Cup Finals in Andorra on Saturday.
Marco Odermatt broke a 23-year record as he claimed victory in the last men’s World Cup giant slalom of the season in Soldeu, Andorra. Odermatt’s win means he passes the all-time men's World Cup ski points record set by the great Hermann Maier in the 1999-2000 season. The highest overall points record belongs to Tina Maze, who claimed 2,414 points in 2013.
Norway won the season-ending mixed team Parallel World Cup title with a narrow victory over Switzerland in the final in Soldeu. Switzerland had fought back from 1-0 down in the four-race final only for Timon Haugan to sweep Norway to victory by virtue of a faster tie-break time.
